Steve Edwards

Steven Edwards, age 54, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Creighton University Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Corning, Iowa. Inurnment will be at the Weirich Cemetery at Lyman, Cass County, Iowa at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. On-line condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.
Steve was born in Greenfield, Iowa on April 4, 1954, to Louis Dale “Bus” Edwards and Florence Lowene (DeBus) Edwards. Steve graduated from C M High School with the class of 1972. He was married to Donna Marie Lenz on July 5, 1981 at St. Peters near Massena. They later divorced. He worked in maintenance for the Corning School District. He also worked for Singer Company in North Platte, NE and managed a store in Carroll. He also managed the Montgomery Ward Automotive Store in Carroll. Later he drove a school bus for Cumberland - Massena Schools. He also worked with his wife, Donna, at The Portrait Gallery photography studios in Massena and Corning.
Survivors include son, Nicholas Edwards and special friend, Grace Holbrook of Ames, IA; daughter, Wendy Edwards of Corning, IA; little-buddy, Adam Harris of Corning, IA; ex-wife and caregiver, Donna Edwards of Corning, IA; two brothers, Dale (Glenda) Edwards of Guthrie Center, IA, Don (Linda) Edwards of Massena, IA; step-mother, Pauline Edwards of Cumberland, IA; brothers-in law: Roger, Larry, Paul, Dennis and David Lenz; mother-in-law, Veta Beal of Corning, IA; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Dale Lenz and sisters in law, Joan Wombacher, and Jean Lenz.
