Tim Goodvin

Tim “Hoot” Eugene Goodvin, the son of Bryan and Edna Maple (Lacox) Goodvin was born December 28, 1954 in Corning, Iowa. Tim entered eternal rest January 25, 2007 at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 52 years and 29 days.
Tim attended school in Corning and graduated with the Class of 1973. Tim also attended Southwestern Community College for a short time. On March 9, 1998, Tim married Joyce Figgins and they have resided in Villisca the last nine years.
Tim worked for Burlington Northern for several years, farmed in the Adams County area a number of years, worked for DL in Red Oak for 5 years and most recently worked for Wal-Mart in Atlantic.
Tim “Hoot” was a friend to anyone. He was a man who enjoyed nature, stargazing, gardening, and country walks. He loved being a Grandpa and being around his grandchildren. He was a man that would do anything for his family and friends.
His family and loved ones were his most cherished possessions. Tim always had a smile on his face. He had a comical personality, laughed a lot, and enjoyed life. Tim was a hard worker, great cook and singer, laidback, carefree, giving, humble, easy to like man. He never tried to be anyone but himself. He had many friends and will be greatly missed.
Preceding Tim in death were his parents and grandparents.
Tim is survived by his wife, Joyce Figgins, Villisca; son, Bryan Eugene Goodvin, Zwingle, IA; daughter, Jessi (Jason) Oathoudt, Nodaway; son, Adam Goodvin, Omaha, Nebraska; step-daughter, Jeanette and husband Vincent; grandchildren: Jade, Jace, Jake, and Joey; Tim is also survived by his brothers: Jim (Jimmie) Goodvin, Gilbert, Arizona; Larry (Bonnie) Goodvin, Corning; sister, Julie Henningsen, New Bern, North Carolina; Tims only living aunt, Marie Lacox, Villisca; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
