Verle A. Vogel

January 31, 1916 — August 18, 2005

Verle Arnold Vogel was born January 31st, 1916, in Denton, Montana, the son of James O. and Winnie (Campbell) Vogel.
Verle received eight years of his schooling in Montana. In October, 1929, he, with his family, came to Iowa. Verle graduated from Corning High School with the class of 1933. After his fathers death in 1937, he and his brother farmed together until Paul was called to serve in the United States Army.
On August 16th, 1941, he was united in marriage to Maxine McPherren in Maryville, Missouri. One daughter, Linda, was born to bless this union.
Verle was happy with his life on the farm, until his health failed. In November, 2003, they moved to Corning.
Verle was a member of Lincoln Center United Methodist Church. He loved his family and friends and was happiest when they came to visit. His remaining days were in the Corning Nursing and Rehab Center where he received much loving care. Through all his illness he kept his sense of humor.
Left to cherish Verles memory are his wife Maxine, of sixty-four years; daughter, Linda Caligiuri and husband James, Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren: James Caligiuri, Osh Kosh, Wisconsin; Michael Caligiuri, Des Moines, Iowa; Melissa Biegger (husband Tony), Des Moines, Iowa; five great-grandchildren: Jessica, Whitney, and Trey Caligiuri; Hanna and Jeffrey Biegger; and other relatives and friends.
Verle was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul.
