Victoria Payton

Victoria Payton, 75, of Lorimor passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at her home. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Victoria Lucille Thomas, the daughter of Kenneth Eugene and Leta Serena (Vestal) Thomas, was born on November 20, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines with the Class of 1966. She would later attend Des Moines Area Community College. On March 15, 1965 Victoria married Donald Devern Payton II in Des Moines. Two daughters, Kasmira and Tami, would bless this union. The couple later divorced.

Victoria is survived by her daughter, Kasmira (Brett Wadsworth) Payton of Lorimor; grandchildren: Tiffany Payton of Des Moines, Amber (Luke) Martin of Des Moines and Jesse Rand of Russell; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Carol Lambert of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers: Tommy Thomas of Florida, Charlie Thomas of Osceola, James (Linda) Thomas of Des Moines, Bobby (Nancy) Stevens of Des Moines, Roger (Glenda) Stevens of Des Moines and Donny (Ann) Stevens of Millerton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Victoria in death were her daughter, Tami Payton; granddaughter, Tori Rand; parents, Kenneth and Leta; sisters, Nieda Stevens and Karen Thomas; brother, Jerry Stevens; and former husband Donald Payton II.
