Virginia Anne Sash

February 25, 1934 — May 16, 2010

Virginia Anne Sash, the daughter of John Ellis and Anna Francis (Carter) Norman, was born on February 25, 1934, in Creston, Iowa. Anne entered eternal rest on May 16, 2010, at the Lenox Care Center, Lenox, Iowa, at the age of seventy-six years, two months, and twenty-one days.
Anne graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1951. Following her graduation from Creston High School, Anne attended Iowa State University for two years to earn a teaching certificate. She returned to Creston and attended Southwestern Community College. On June 29, 1954, Anne married James Davis Sash at Creston.
Anne was a homemaker and a mother. She had a gift for music and sang in many choirs. Anne loved gardening, cooking, decorating, and animals. She enjoyed golf and swimming. Anne had an artistic flair as well, and dabbled in painting and was very creative in making homemade crafts. Anne deeply loved her family.
Anne was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority at Iowa State University; Elziver Womens Club; and The D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution). Anne was a member of the Creston Chorus for many years and the Methodist Church choir. Anne played the piano and the Marimba. Anne was also a Girl Scout Leader for a couple of years when the girls were young.
Left to cherish Annes memory are her children: Terri Anne Sash, Des Moines, Iowa; Tammy Jo (Tony) Oltman, Prescott, Iowa; and James Chandler Sash, Creston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Norman, Creston; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Anne in death were her son, John Davis Sash in 1976; her husband in 1979; her father, John Ellis Norman; her mother, Anna Francis Norman Bray; her step-father, Edward Bray; her father-in-law, John Adams Sash; her mother-in-law, Thelma Sash; her sister, Betty Parks; her brother, Robert Norman; and her brother-in-law, Burl Parks.
