Wayne Harvey Crill

March 13, 1931 — May 3, 2010

Wayne Harvey Crill, son of James Harvey and Erma Mae (Dillon) Crill, was born on March 13, 1931 in Adams County, Iowa. Wayne entered eternal rest on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the age of seventy-nine years, one month and twenty days.
Wayne attended Corning High School and graduated with the Class of 1948. Wayne began farming when he was twenty years old on a farm west of Carbon later moving to a farm east of Corning. Wayne lived his entire life in Adams County and continued farming in the Carl and Mt. Etna areas.
On June 7, 1953 Wayne was united in marriage to Claire Nadine Richey at the Methodist Church in Corning and three children were born to bless this union: LuAnne, Lanette and Todd.
Wayne was a member of the American Angus Association and the First Presbyterian Church. Wayne also served as a 4H Leader for ten years and twenty years as Soil Commissioner; he was on the Planning Committee for Lake Icaria where he was also instrumental in choosing the name for the lake. Wayne served on the Adams County Board of Supervisors; he was a former REC Board Member and enjoyed participating in the World Plowing Matches.
Left to cherish Wayne’s memory is his wife, Claire Crill of Corning; daughters: LuAnne (husband Ron) Brown of Corning, Lanette (husband Mike) Ernst of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Todd Crill and fiance’ Rhonda of Corning; four grandchildren: Tom Brown, Teresa Urwiller, Maren Dorn and Amanda Ernst; great-granddaughter, Mya Urwiller; sister, Evelyn Powell of Liberty, MO; brother-in-law, Sam Richey of Corning; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice Stanley Peterson of Corning; two nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceding Wayne in death were his parents; brother-in-law, Glen Powell; mother and father-in-law: Esther Paul Richey and sister-in-law, Donnis Richey.
