Wayne Herschel Turner, the son of Herschel E. and Gladys Opal (Draper) Turner, was born on September 6, 1922, near Creston in Union County, Iowa. Wayne entered eternal rest on September 22, 2007, at the Greater Regional Medical Center at Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-five years
On May 17, 1941, Wayne married Uranuia May ONeal at Grant City, MO. Wayne served in the United States Army from December, 1943 until December, 1945 during World War II.
Wayne lived in Creston his entire life. Wayne owned and operated multiple retail businesses and managed several rental properties. He was an avid fan of Creston High School sports activities, especially girls softball. He enjoyed his family, the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs Baseball.
Left to mourn Waynes passing are his wife: Uranuia Turner, Creston; his children: Sharon (David) Johns, Creston; Steven (Rebecca) Turner, Las Vegas, NV; Dennis (Marianne) Turner, Round Rock, TX; Kenneth (Lisa) Turner, Quitman, MO; Rodney (Ellen) Turner, Lincoln, NE; his sisters: Luella Goodman, Omaha, NE; Nadine Beadle, Ottumwa; Eulla (Art) Genners, Creston; Loretta Howard, Lenox; his Sister-in-Law: Ruby Turner, Creston; Eighteen Grandchildren; Twenty-five Great-Grandchildren; Nine Great-Great Grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Wayne in death were his Parents; Brother, Cleve Turner in 1983; Great-Granddaughter, Rebecca in 2005; and his Brothers-in-Law: Ray Goodman, Wendell Beadle and LaVaughn Howard.
