William Bill Preston, Sr.

William Lee Preston Sr., the son of John Lowell and Luella F (Heeren) Preston was born October 29, 1939, in Cass County Iowa. Bill entered eternal rest on January 25, 2016, at Immanuel Medical Center, Omaha, NE., at the age of seventy-six years, two months, and twenty-seven days.
Bill graduated from Prescott High School with the class of 1957. He married Carolyn Roach in 1960, in Corning, Iowa. They were later divorced. He later married Marlene Dee Konecne Harvey on March 22, 1985, in Prescott, Iowa. Bill worked for the Farmers CO-OP in Corning. He also operated Bill’s 66 in Prescott from 1965 to 1983. Bill worked at the Marina at Lake Icaria and then worked at PPI until his retirement.
Bill was a 50 year member of the Prescott Circle Lodge #555. He was a member of the Prescott Business Association. He helped plan the Prescott Centenial Celebration in 1970. Bill enjoyed bowling and he was in several leagues. He loved the outdoors and spending time hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling to many places with Marlene. Bill was very active and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by both friends and family.
Left to cherish Bill’s memory is his loving wife of thirty-one years, Marlene of Corning, IA; son: Mark (Lynne) Preston, Lenox, IA; daughters: Lisa (Keith) Cummins, Des Moines, IA; Cheri (Chuck ) Welder, Brooks, IA; step-daughter: Denise Gepner, Corning, IA; step-son: Kyle (Lori) Harvey, Corning, IA; step-daughter: Annette Harvey, Creston, IA; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother: Richard Preston, Prescott, IA; sisters: Ramona (Jim) Kidwell, Adkins, IA; Kay (Lewis) Tucker, Prescott, IA; Nancy Lynne (Jim) McKay, Richmond, Kentucky; brother-in-law: Reldon (Kathy) Konecne, Corning IA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
