Winfield Ramsey

Ellsworth Winfield Ramsey, the fifth child of Matilda (Larson) and Ellsworth Ramsey was born on December 8, 1906 in Cass County, Iowa. Winfield entered eternal rest on Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Lenox Care Center at the age of one hundred years, six months and eighteen days.
Winfield attended country schools, mostly in the Mt Etna area. He joined the Mt. Etna Church of the Brethren as a teenager. On June 12, 1938, at the home of her parents, Winfield and Ila Swartz were married. Of this union three children were born: Crystal, Edwin and Galen. He farmed all his life, beginning in Adams County near Mt. Etna, then to Brooks, Cromwell and Lenox in 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ila; four brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include his children: Daughter, Crystal and husband Mark Walvoord of Holland, Michigan; Sons, Edwin Ramsey of Prescott, Iowa and Galen Ramsey of Chicago, Illinois; Grandchildren, Alison and husband Mike Ikerd and Kirsten Walvoord; Great-Grandchildren, Dustin Ashley; Sister, Ruth Hoyt of Villisca, and many other relatives and friends.
