Ann Booth Grau, the daughter of David Roosevelt and Lucille Opal (Booth) Littell, was born November 29, 1936 in Kinross, Iowa.  Her parents were both school teachers and moved to several towns during her childhood.  Her father became a Superintendent of Schools in Anita and Villisca.  One of Ann’s good friends in Villisca was Martha (Darnell) Linn.  Ann met Thomas Grau Sr., in Manning, Iowa and married him on November 13, 1954, in Sioux City, Iowa.  They lived on a farm in Audubon County (established in 1887) for many years until moving to town in Manning, Iowa.  Ann was a dedicated farm wife and homemaker raising 7 children on the farm.
