Beryl Twyla (Randol) Booth was born June 2, 1923 in Clarke County Iowa to George Herbert Randol and Irene Ulabelle (Waugh) Randol. Beryl entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the Afton Care Center, Afton, Iowa, at the age of ninety-three years.
Beryl attended Wildcat School and loved to tell stories of her time spent there. Later, Beryl graduated high school from the American School of Correspondence, an accredited distance school in Illinois. Beryl enjoyed being a homemaker, helping to care for her grandchildren, crocheting afghans and working word puzzles.
On October 6, 1943 Beryl was united in marriage to Merrill Edwin Booth at the First United Methodist Church in Creston, Iowa by Rev Hayes. They farmed in Pleasant Township in Union County Iowa most of their married life. Beryl was a homemaker, caring for their two children, Marjorie Lou and Richard Merrill, as well as her garden and farm animals. Merrill and Beryl enjoyed visiting and playing cards with their friends and family. In the late summers they enjoyed going on many road trips to the western states. In 1993 the couple retired and moved to Creston, Iowa. Merrill passed away in January 1994. Beryl remained at Regency Park in Creston until October 2013 when she went to reside at the Afton Care Center in Afton, Iowa. At the care center she enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and listening to the country music. She always had a request for the song Bill Bailey and liked to let them know that she had a son-in-law by that name.
Beryl is survived by her daughter, Marjorie (William) Bailey of Afton, Iowa and her son, Richard (Sue) Booth of Thayer, Iowa; Seven Grandchildren: Julie Bailey and friend Blaine Kamp – Callender, Iowa; Edwin (Tracy) Booth – Hopeville, Iowa; Kelie (James) Vasquez – Anthem, Arizona; Leslie (Randy) Popkes – Urbandale, Iowa; Melissa (Scott) Maass – Urbandale, Iowa; Cecelia (Zach) Loy – Murray, Iowa; Katelyn Booth – Osceola, Iowa; 16 Great Grandchildren: Tyler (McKenzie) Lawrence; Anthony (Rebecca) Lawrence; Levi Green; Diego Vasquez; Max Vasquez; Ashley (Tony) Mercer; Jessie (Larry) Fish; Gregory Booth and friend Shannon Belew; Amanda (Grae) Herold; Whitney Popkes; Ryan Popkes; Karzden Maass; Jaxson Maass; Bryson Fuller; Connor Loy; Adaline Loy; 11 Great-Great Grandchildren; Niece, Patti Booth (Vernon) Kelly, Nephew, Jack Booth, Several Great Nieces and Nephews, and forever friend Alma Selsor.
