Burial will be at the Nodaway Cemetery in rural Adams County, Nodaway, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed the Adams County Speedway.
Carol LaVonne Griffith was born on August 8, 1947 to Ernest Lee and Bernice Lucille (Anderson) Brown in Creston, Iowa. Carol entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at her home in Brooks, Iowa at the age of sixty-one years, four months and five days.
Carol graduated from Corning High School in 1965. Carol began her career working in the computer department at the N.F.O. for 13 years. She also worked for Equitable Life Assurance in West Des Moines for 19 years as a computer analyst.
Carol was united in marriage to Ross Dean Griffith on October 12, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ross and Carol resided in Des Moines for nineteen years, but they lived most of their life in the Corning area.
Carol was a member of the Christian Church in Corning, where she was also baptized. She thoroughly enjoyed stock car racing and fast cars. When Carol was younger she owned a 1967 Chevelle.
Carol is survived by her husband, Ross Griffith of Corning, Iowa; mother, Bernice Miller of Corning, Iowa; brother, Ron “Brownie” (wife Norma) Brown of Prescott, Iowa; sister, Janelle (husband Lyle) Wiese of Prescott, Iowa; niece, Shyla (husband Justin) and three great-nieces: Jacy, Jentry and Jordyn Schafer, all of Corning, Iowa; nephew, Adam (wife Stephanie) and great-niece, Lexie Wiese all of Denison, Iowa; nephew, Andy Wiese of Council Bluffs, Iowa; many cousins, other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Ernest on March 5, 1961; step-father, Bert Miller in 2006; mother and father-in-law: Annabelle Jud Griffith.
