Cateya Caye Phipps

Teya Phipps, 38, of Creston, Iowa, entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 22, 2023, due to an auto accident. Her dog Titan was with her, also passing away. Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 31, 2023 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 West Montgomery, Creston, Iowa. Rev. Jodi Rushing will officiate. Cateya Caye Phipps “Teya” age 38, of Creston, IA was born February 12, 1985 to Cindy Marie Parson Earls and Larry Kenneth Phipps in Iowa City, IA. Teya grew up in Creston, graduated from Creston High School and later attended Southwestern Community College earning a nursing degree and another in Business. Teya worked various jobs in her young life. She worked as a nurse, worked as a Bartender and Mail Carrier, to name a few.

Teya was involved in different activities and sports growing up: softball, wrestling, volleyball, band and color guard, encouraging her kids to do the same. Teya loved watching her kids grow and her face would light up telling about their accomplishments. She enjoyed camping, fishing and was always ready for an “adventure”. Not all went as should, but she made the best out of the situation. As she would say “It’s fine” or “I’ve got a plan”.

Teya touched so many people during her life and made numerous friends and memories. Everything she did made Teya, Teya! There will never be another like her.

Those who will deeply miss her are her children: Trinity Earleywine (Michael Gonzales Scherer), Christian Ahrens, and Lexi Phipps, all of Creston; her parents: Cindy Earls of Creston and Larry Phipps of Osceola; sister, Nicole Rebol of Osceola; aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

Preceding Teya in death were her maternal and paternal grandparents; aunts and uncles.
