Desiree Evans

October 11, 1971 — August 19, 2023

Desiree Selma Evans, the daughter of Dale Russell and Carol Irene (Fichter) Evans, Sr. was born October 11, 1971. After a recent battle with pneumonia and already battling cancer, Desiree transitioned to a better place on August 19, 2023. No services are planned. Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center of Corning was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Desiree’s tribute fund by clicking on the “donate now” button.. Memories and condolences may be shared on-line at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Growing up, Desiree loved to skate, ride motorcycles, swim & find nightcrawlers. She also took dance classes, gymnastics & was a Girl Scout. Desiree grew up in Glenwood, IA and was part of the 1991 Glenwood Senior High School graduating class. She spent the last several years of her life living in Corning, IA. As an adult, Desiree could still be found lounging by a pool & occasionally looking for nightcrawlers! She loved spending quality time with her two great nephews, Ryley & Matthue.

Desiree was greeted in peace by her favorite cousin, Sherry Fichter: nephew, Derek Bolton; her aunt, Niecey (Denise) and her grandparents.

Desiree leaves behind two daughters: Destiny & Cali, three grandchildren: her mother, Carol Evans; two great-nephews: Ryley & Matthue; one great-niece, Rhyanna, several nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts.

Regardless of what life threw at Desiree, she never lost her smile and her sense of humor. She loved her family & friends unconditionally. She had a lot of love to share for someone who didn’t feel loved herself. You are loved & forever in our hearts. Rest easy our dear friend.

"Our legacy is really the lives we touch, the inspiration we give, altering someone's plan - if even for a moment - and getting them to think, cry, laugh, argue. More than anything, we are remembered for our smiles; the ones we share with our closest and dearest, and the ones we bestow on a total stranger, who needed it right then, and God put you there to deliver” - Carrie Hamilton
