Edward Nelson Jr.

Edward “Ed” John Nelson, Jr. son of Edward John Nelson Sr. and Grace Loretta Nelson (Barrett) was born December 30, 1939 in Watseka, Illinois. Ed entered eternal rest on Monday, August 24, 2026, at his home in Brooks, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be hosted by the family at a later date. Ed graduated from Watseka High School, Watseka, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Evelyn on October 2, 1971. Two children, Colleen and Kristina, were born to bless this union. Ed worked for the Adams County Roads Department for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ed is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his children, Colleen (Ray) Barber, and Kristina (Matt) Swank; and his grandchildren, Dalton Kleindienst, Michael Kleindienst, Laura Swank, Sara Swank and Dylan Swank; brother, Robert Nelson; and other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Grace; and his sisters, Peggy and LaVerna.
