Ellen Ruth Lang, 75, of Beatrice, died Friday January 10, 2014 at her home surrounded by all her children. A Prayer Service for family and friends, will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel in Beatrice, NE with Pastor Cale Lang officiating. The family will greet friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday evening. The family will receive friends from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, January 14, 2014 at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Pearson Family Funeral Service Chapel in Creston, with Pastor Cale Lang officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Creston, IA. Ellen, the daughter of Max and Sylvia Johns, was born in Creston, Iowa on October 15, 1938. She graduated from Creston High School. She married Charles Lang, December 27, 1955 in West Des Moines, IA and to this union five children were born. She was co-owner of Johns Machine Welding in Creston for 14 years, worked as Production Manager for the Creston News Advertiser for 33 years, and as an associate at the Wal-Mart in Beatrice for 4 years. Ellen is a member of the First Christian Church in Creston and was baptized April 7, 1996. She sold and collected antiques, enjoyed bird watching, bowling, traveling, family gatherings and especially going to her grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include her sons: Bruce Lang and wife, Dawn of Beatrice, NE, Danny Lang of Creston, IA, and Doug Lang and wife, Scarlett of Lake Forest, CA; daughters: Linnea Julian of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Martha Lang and Eric Shull of Denton, TX; grandchildren: Chris Lang and wife, Sarah of Costa Mesa, CA, Cale Lang and wife, Kim of Sabetha, KS, Taylor Lang of Omaha, NE, Neil Lang and wife, Jodi of West Des Moines, IA, Alisha Lang of Olathe, KS, Nick Lang of Olathe, KS, Maxwell, Jacob, and Samantha Lang of Lake Forest, CA, Makenna, Mason, and Macoy Julian of Lee’s Summit, MO; great grandsons: Micah, Jackson, Beckett Lang all of Sabetha, KS; ex-husband, Charles Lang of Creston, IA; brother, David Johns and wife, Sharon of Creston, IA; nephews: Charles White and wife, Debbie of Creston, IA, Frank White of Long Beach, CA, and Sterling Johns and wife, Lisa of Creston, IA; nieces: Linda White of Creston, IA, Sue Miller and husband John of Creston, IA, and Shelley Hanson of Creston, IA.
