Evelyn Dianne Helvie, passed away on July 16, 2026, at the Mt. Ayr Health Care Center in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Dianne was born to William H. and Dorothy Evelyn (King) Dumler on October 28, 1956, and throughout her 69 years, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to family.

Dianne’s life was defined by her deep love for those around her. She found lasting companionship with her beloved husband, Ron Helvie, who survives her. They lived on a farm north of Corning. Dianne loved naming the baby calves and feeding the bottle calves. She also loved taking gator rides around the farm. Dianne worked various places as a CNA and she loved caring for people.

Dianne's family extended well beyond her immediate household, and she cherished her relationships with Ron’s children: her step-sons Brian (Dana) Helvie, Chad Helvie, and Les (Amanda) Helvie, as well as her step-daughter, Allison (Clint) Dredge. She was a proud and loving mother to Keith’s children: step-son, Rod (Julie) Owens, and her step-daughter, Lucinda (Josh) VanFossin. Dianne’s love of family extended to her 16 grandchildren, and great-grandchild, (with two on the way) and many nieces and nephews. She truly loved all time spent with them. The memory of her late son, Billie Jo Dumler, is held gently and dearly by all who knew her.

Family was always at the center of Dianne’s world. She was sustained by the enduring bonds with her brother, Bob Dumler, her mother, Dorothy Dumler, and her sisters, Debra (Ray) Bozwell and Penny (Kerry) Strong, and sister-in-law, Joyce Stice,

Dianne’s life was marked by love and loss. She was preceded in death by her son Billie Jo Dumler; husband, Keith Owens; her father, William Dumler; her brother, Paul Dumler; her grandfathers, Dale King, Henry Dumler; her grandmothers, Evelyn King and Eva Dumler; brother-in-law, Norm Stice; as well as her father-in-law, Bill Helvie, and mother-in-law, Glee Helvie. Her resilience in the face of these losses was a testament to her character and faith.

Dianne’s warmth and generosity created a sense of home for all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her gentle spirit, her laughter, and the countless moments of love and joy she shared with them.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, to be determined. Inurnment will take place at the Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family for the Adams County Speedway Scholarship Fund.

Dianne’s journey has ended, but the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the light she brought to those around her will endure. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
