Frances Lenore Roberg was born on July 7, 1920 to Alfred Herbert and Nora Gertrude (Linnemann) Koch on a farm near Van Meter, Iowa. Frances entered eternal rest on April 18, 2016 at Afton Care Center, Afton, Iowa at the age of ninety-five years, nine months and eleven days.
Frances grew up on her parent’s farm along with her two brothers; Jim and Dwayne. She attended school at Desoto, and played basketball while in high school there.
Frances married Curtiss Spencer Roberg on July 10, 1949 and together they raised their family of four sons and one daughter on their acreage near Boone, Iowa. In 1985 they sold the acreage and moved to Afton, Iowa where they lived the remainder of their lives. Frances enjoyed camping, feeding and watching birds, quilting, and watching professional basketball.
Frances is survived by three sons: Rex (Jetta) Roberg of Cabot, Arkansas; Marc (Deb) Roberg of Afton, Iowa; Craig (Deb) Roberg of Montrose, Colorado; daughter Annie (Dave) Cruse of Kimberling City, Missouri; brother Jim (Margaret) Koch of Van Meter, Iowa; sister-in-law Irene Koch of Van Meter, Iowa; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Curtiss in 1994; oldest son Eric; parents, Alfred and Nora; and brother, Dwayne.
