Jacquilene “Jackie” (Beardsley) Gardner, the daughter of George Edward and Mary (Kalkas) Beardsley, was born on August 16, 1930, south of Afton, in Union County, Iowa. Jackie entered eternal rest on June 6, 2006 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, at the age of seventy-seven years, nine months, and twenty-two days.
Jackie was raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Beardsley. Jackie attended school at Thayer until her junior year and finished high school at Lorimor. Jackie graduated from Lorimor High School with the Class of 1949. In 1954, she married Eldon L. Gardner and they later divorced. They had one son, Dennis.
Jackie worked for Gits Manufacturing in Creston for over forty-four years. She retired on December 29, 1995.
Left to cherish Jackies memory is her son: Dennis (wife Debbie) Gardner, Creston; One Granddaughter: Brandy (husband Aaron) Morgan, Gilmore, Texas; and Three Great-Grandsons: Cameron, Cody and Ethan of Gilmore, Texas; many cousins; her ex-husband; and many friends.
