Howard Dutch Nauman

February 16, 1940 — December 24, 2014

Howard “Dutch” Ernest Nauman, the son of Ernest August and Rita Belle (Perrigo) Nauman, was born on February 16, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa. Dutch entered eternal rest at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa on December 24, 2014 at the age of seventy-four years, ten months and eight days.
Dutch lived in or near Creston all of his life. He married Barbara Ribbey in 1958 and they later divorced. On January 13, 1990 he married Penni Sue Wood in Creston, Iowa.
Dutch worked for the Union County Road Department for thirty-six years and retired in 1998. In retirement, Dutch worked as a custodian at the Green Valley A.E.A. #14 beginning in 1999. Dutch and Penni both retired from the AEA on December 31, 2009. Dutch also raised livestock, both cattle and hogs, in partnership with Tom Mullen until Tom’s death.
Dutch loved playing golf, playing pool and playing softball. He enjoyed being outside and loved antique cars and fast cars.
Left to cherish Dutch’s memory are his wife, Penni Nauman, Creston; his son, Rick Nauman, Creston; his daughter, Tammy McLoud, Bethlehem, GA; his step-sons: Ronnie Brammer, Creston; Kevin Brammer, Lorimor, and Cody Smith, Orlando, FL; his step-daughter: Shawnee Brammer, Creston; One granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Nauman of Oregon; his step-grandchildren: Jesse Roberts, Ricci Brammer, Shyanna Fizer, Chance and Jayden Brammer, and Preston “PJ” Smith; his brother, Richard Wick, Council Bluffs, IA; and his sister, Janet Wick, Creston.
Preceding Dutch in death were his parents; his grandparents; his mothers-in-law: Dot Ribbey and Elvina Wood; his fathers-in-law: Bill Ribbey and Charles Wood; his sister, Darlene Garner; his brother: Ronnie Nauman; his sister-in-law: Dorothy Wick; and his son-in-law: Mark McLoud.
