James Alfred Roshto, Sr., the son of Richard Alexander and Catherine Elmer (Galloway) Roshto, was born on May 20, 1937 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. James entered eternal rest July 3, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa at the age of seventy-eight years, one month and thirteen days.
James served in the United States Marine Corp. He entered the service at Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. James was discharged just prior to the beginning of the Korean Conflict. On December 24, 1955, James married Joyce Marie Hazel in Woodville, Mississippi.
Jimmy drove a semi - truck most of his life. He drove for several different companies from coast to coast and has lived in many different places over the years. The last company he drove for was the Hahn Company, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and retired in 1995, due to medical reasons. Jimmy moved to Iowa from Arkansas and lived in Nodaway, Iowa for ten years. He has lived in Osceola the past two years. In retirement, James enjoyed working with his hands and loved wood working. He was a member of the Osceola Full Gospel Church. James’ family was very important to him.
Left to cherish James’ memory is his wife, Joyce Roshto, Osceola; his children: Eva (Maurice) Austin, Osceola; Liz Brassfield, Bono, AR; Garie Holland, Osceola; James (Heather) Roshto, Jr., Villisca; Deanne (Jeff) Stacy, Huntsville, AR; David (Amber) Roshto, Jonesboro, AR; Maurice (Kim) Roshto, Wesley, AR; Joe (Jennifer) Roshto, Bono, AR; and Brandon (Brittney) Roshto, New Albany, MS; Several Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Anthony Roshto; his three brothers; and one sister.
