Jason Scott Brown, a devoted brother, son, beloved uncle, loyal friend, and respected leader, passed away leaving behind a legacy of immense generosity, warmth, and dedication. Jason was raised and educated in Lenox, Iowa where he graduated from Lenox High School with the Class of 1995. In 2004, Jason started his own business, Mid America Trenchers LLC, a highly specialized manufacturer and distributor of heavy-duty underground construction and agricultural drainage equipment. They are best known as the modern manufacturer of Buckeye Trenchers, a historic brand dating back to the late 19th century that pioneered mechanical ditch digging. As the President of Mid America Trenchers, Jason was deeply respected within his industry, but it was his massive heart and vibrant spirit that truly defined his life.

To know Jason was to know a man who quite literally never met a stranger—only friends he hadn’t met yet. He possessed a rare, magnetic ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making anyone in his presence feel instantly valued and heard. His loyalty to his friends was absolute, and he was held in the highest regard by everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Jason’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He poured boundless love into his nieces, taking immense pride in their lives and creating cherished memories that will be carried forward forever. His generosity knew no bounds; he gave freely of his time, his wisdom, and his support, always placing the needs of others before his own.

His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, his friends, his company, and an entire industry that loved him so deeply. Jason’s legacy of kindness, open-hearted fellowship, and unwavering loyalty will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Jason is survived by his mother, Linda Brown of Lenox, Iowa; 2 brothers: Darran Brown of Lenox, Iowa and Justin (wife Sheena) Brown of Adel, Iowa; his nieces, Savannah and Kaylee Brown; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members.

Preceding Jason in death was his father, Norvan Brown; grandparents, Roscoe and Lillian Brown and Roland and LaVaun Reinke; and grandfather, Melvin Fulton.
