Jerry Frank Peckham was born to Bradford Jay and Melva Norene (Snethen) Peckham in Dog Hollow, Adams County, Iowa. He was raised in Dog Hollow and graduated from Corning High School with the Class of 1956.
On December 28, 1957, Jerry was united in marriage to Karol Kay Houck at the Corning Methodist Church. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Corning, where they made their home and raised their family.
Jerry devoted many years of service to Adams County as a Soil Commissioner, serving during the development of Lake Icaria. He was a charter member of the Southern Iowa Forage and Livestock Committee and was actively involved in numerous school sporting events throughout the years. Jerry was a faithful member of both the Brooks Methodist Church and the Corning Methodist Church. Jerry was a member of the Iowa National Guard for eight years. He and Kay were also devoted supporters of the Corning Red Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and the Iowa State Cyclones.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Karol Kay Peckham; sons, Michael (Cindy) Peckham and Mark (Kathleen) Peckham; grandchildren, Allison (Matthew) McClure of Ankeny, Iowa, Maty (Jeremiah) Rex of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Ashton (Matthew) Kristensen of Ankeny, Iowa, Megan (Dylan Greene) Gilmore of Ankeny, Iowa, and Sean Gilmore of Parker, Colorado; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Mosman; brother, Albert (Donna) Peckham; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Jerry loved interaction with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Harold Mosman; and nephew, Ted Mosman.
Memorial Services for Jerry will be on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 at the Corning United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. A visitation, with family present, will be Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 at the Pearson Family Funeral Home in Corning from 5 – 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Corning United Methodist Church or to Athletic Booster Clubs of Southwest Valley Schools.
