LaDoris Fayrene Moffitt, the daughter of Chester Orville and Peggy Madge Marie (Jones) Abell, was born in Creston on November 13, 1937. LaDoris was one of 12 siblings born to Chester and Peggy and was educated in Country Schools.
Fayrene was united in marriage to Charles Mac Moffitt on July 3, 1959. She devoted her life to caring for her family and worked as a farm wife and homemaker for her husband and four children: Richard, Donna, David and Terry. Fayrene was an amazing cook and enjoyed baking. She baked the best home-made dinner rolls and bread. She spent many hours reading the Iowa Outdoor Magazine, going to auctions and embroidering. Fayrene loved to spend time with her family and looked forward to the times visiting with her grandchildren.
Preceding Fayrene in death was her husband, Mac in 2017; her parents; two brothers: Larry and Gerry; and four sisters: Deloris, Betty, Cheryl and Carman.
Fayrene is survived by her four children: Richard Moffitt of Glenrock, Wyoming, Donna Cunningham (husband Lanny Herzberg) of Creston, David (wife Kelly) Moffitt of Creston and Terry (wife Kristi) Moffitt of Diagonal; 14 grandchildren: Brandy, Kim, Dayna and Shannon; Amy, Aaron and Alex; Lacey, Kyla and Taylor; Leslie, DaNelle, Trisha and Trenton; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Terry Abell of Creston and Jerry Abell of Lorimor, Iowa; three sisters: Sherri (Greg) Shawler of Creston, Margo Abell of Creston and Christine Abell (significant other, Bart) of Chapman, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Vickie Abell of Kent, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Fayrene will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
