Linnea F. Barber

Linnea Barber, 83 of Creston, Iowa passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. A prayer Service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center. Visitation will be 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM, with the family receiving friends starting at 10 AM Tuesday. A private burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Donor’s Charity of choice.

Linnea Fae Barber, the only child of Elmer “Bill” and Lola (Stickels) Barber, was born in Creston, Iowa September 4, 1941 in Creston. Linnea was born with a handicap and was raised by her parents and never married. She lived with Bill and Lola at Regency Park until Lola’s death. Bill wanted to make sure she would be cared for the rest of her life. Linnea has been a resident of Creston or Afton her entire life. She lived at CARE in Afton for several years and worked at Innovative Industries. Linnea later relocated to CrestHaven Care Center in Creston where she lived for several years.

Linnea is survived by 3 cousins: Mary Saxton of Creston, Iowa; Charlie Kissell of Creston, Iowa and Donna Shrimpton of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; as well as her CrestHaven family and care-givers.
