Marilyn Brownrigg

September 25, 1935 — April 26, 2016

Marilyn Kay Brownrigg, the daughter of Harold Marion and Martha Kay (Devig) Bolton, was born on September 25, 1935 in Marshalltown, Iowa. Marilyn entered eternal rest on April 26, 2016 at her home in Creston, Iowa at the age of eighty years, seven months and one day.
Marilyn graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1953. She attended Junior College in Des Moines and received a Secretarial Degree. She later graduated from Southwestern Community College in Creston with an Associate Degree in Accounting. Marilyn worked as a Nanny in Des Moines as a young lady and she provided day care in her home for many years in Creston. Marilyn worked at Pamida as a Bookkeeper for several years; then she went to work at Innovative Industries where she was a Case Manager. She retired from Innovative Industries in 2013.
Marilyn was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and attended as many of her grandchildren’s school events as she could. Marilyn enjoyed going anywhere to listen to symphonies, plays, and musicals; and she enjoyed visiting museums. Marilyn was very interested in the Norwegian culture and travelled to Norway two different times. She collected antiques and cookbooks and she was always willing to help others.
Left to cherish Marilyn’s memory are her sons: David (Denice) Brownrigg, Creston; Brian (Carol) Brownrigg, Bella Vista, AR; and Brendan Brownrigg, Los Angeles, CA; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Brownrigg, Austin, MN; Seven Grandchildren; Six Great-Grandchildren; and several cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents; her brother, Michael Bolton; her granddaughter, Kristin Hannah; her great-grandson, Jacob Wiese; and her son, Mark Joseph Brownrigg.
