Mark A. Larkin, 61 of Creston went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 18, 2022. No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Creston Animal Rescue Effort. Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center is in charge of the arrangements. Mark Allen Larkin was born January 3, 1961 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston weighing a healthy 10 pounds. Mark was born to Leta and Wayne Johnson and was later adopted by John Ashton Larkin. He was raised in Creston and attended public school in Creston. As a young adult, Mark moved to Omaha, Nebraska, started a cleaning business and was married a short time later. The couple later divorced and Mark relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where he worked for a finance company. He also was an excellent singer and guitar player, playing many gigs with a band in the Nashville area. Mark lived in Nashville for nearly 10 years.
Mark returned to Creston due to poor health and to be closer to family including his many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Mark is survived by his mother, Leta Larkin of Creston; his sisters: Tina (Gary) Lybarger of Harrison, Arkansas; Tammy Henderson of Creston; Lisa (Curtis) Hill of San Antonio, Texas; his brother, Brett Larkin of Creston; and his cat, “Big Boy”. Mark is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and several aunts, uncles and his friends.
Preceding Mark in death was his brother, Brady Larkin; his father, John Larkin; and his grandparents, Russell and Gladys Spainhower and Burt and Hazel Johnson.
