Mary Hogue, 85 of Prescott, Iowa, entered her eternal rest Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Trinity Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, located at 110 NW 2nd Street, Bridgewater, IA 50837. Pastor David Clark will officiate. Mary will be laid to rest in the North Fairview Cemetery, Lenox, Iowa at 2:30 PM Friday. Open Visitation with family receiving friends will be 4 -6 PM, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery Street, Creston, Iowa 50801. Mary JoAnn Hogue was born in Hannibal, Missouri on September 13, 1935, the daughter of John Samuel and Helen Erlene (Richards) Utterback. As a young girl, Mary’s family moved to Iowa and she attended elementary and middle school in Independence, Iowa. Mary graduated with the Class of 1954 from Independence High School.
On October 2, 1975, Mary was united in marriage to Lewis Byron Hogue in Creston, Iowa. Together, the couple combined families and raised 8 children. Mary was Homemaker and Housewife, always providing for her family. Mary was a member of the Trinity Christian Church – Disciples of Christ in Bridgewater where her and Lewis attended regularly.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents; her identical twin sister, Marie Hatfield; her brother, Jim Utterback; and a granddaughter, Jamie Jo Hogue.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Hogue of Prescott, IA; her children: Craig Todd of Tulsa, OK; Kevin (Lauri) Todd of Tulsa, OK; Erin Hulse of Prescott, IA; Danielle Hodge of Plattsmouth, NE; Lewis “Skeeter” Hogue, Jr. of Exira, IA; Scott Hogue (significant other, Angel) of Audabon, IA; Colina (James) Haller of Wapello, IA and Danny Bill Hogue of Grand Rapids, MI; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her. May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn.
