Rhonda Rae Nauman, born on August 15, 1959, in Creston, Iowa, passed away at her home in Redding, Iowa, on November 3, 2025. Rhonda was a loving mother and grandmother, remembered fondly by her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Rhonda worked a few years for the BNSF Railroad, where she transported railroaders to meet their trains in various towns. She also spent some time at Bunn-O-Matic before she dedicated herself to caring for her son, Travis, at home. Rhonda received her education in the Creston schools.
Rhonda had a special love for animals, especially her horses, "Candy" and "Star," along with her beloved dogs, "Maverick" and "Diesel." She enjoyed the beauty of nature, often taking joy in watching hummingbirds flit about. Fishing and savoring her daily Pepsi over ice were also among her favorite pastimes. Those who had the pleasure of sharing meals with her knew her as an excellent cook, particularly renowned for her fried chicken and ice box dessert.
Rhonda is survived by her children: Tamara Fitzgerald of Lenox, Iowa; Talana (James) Roach of Greenfield, Iowa; Travis Nauman of Redding, Iowa; and Tashina Martwick of Creston, Iowa. She leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Kayden, Blaine, Emma, Conner (currently serving in the U.S. Army, stationed overseas), Jaycee, Levi, Makinna, Matthew, and Lillian; and a great-granddaughter on the way. Rhonda is also survived by her siblings: Darrin (JoAnn) Nauman of Redfield, Iowa; Renee (Curt) Ripperger of Ankeny, Iowa; Deanna (Jerry) Kons of Sarasota, Florida; and Tonya (Troy) Dillenburg of Orient, Iowa, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Vesper (Sackett) Nauman; two brothers, Craig and Trent Nauman; as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.
