Ronald Alan Brentnall was born in Corning, Iowa on November 23, 1958 to Dallas Eugene and Opal Delores (Dillon) Brentnall.   Ron attended the Prescott Community Schools and graduated as valedictorian of his class in 1977.   As a child growing up in Prescott, he participated in 4-H and track.   Ron was very musical, and played saxophone, piano and organ.   Ron had a beautiful voice and sang at many weddings over the years.  He was additionally very artistic and loved designing the interiors of his homes.    Ron attended Iowa State University graduating in 1981 with a BS in Business Administration.  After graduation Ron lived and worked in Des Moines, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska, relocating to Denver, Colorado in 1983.  Ron had a successful and illustrious career in banking as head of Human Resources and ultimately retiring as Senior Executive Vice President at First Bank in Colorado in 1999.

Ron returned to Des Moines, Iowa in 2008, living with his beloved brother Randy.   Ron loved Jesus Christ and found great solace and comfort in attending Valley Church and Hope Lutheran in West Des Moines, Iowa.    Ron loved his family and friends, Iowa State Cyclones, his dog Buddy, cowboy boots and the Colorado mountains.   Ron was adventurous and loved the outdoors, whether snow-skiing, water-skiing, white-water rafting or skydiving.  Ron enjoyed “spirited” driving with the top down in his Mustang Cobra.   He had an infectious laugh, incredible sense of humor and wit.   His writings were many over the years, regaling his friends with hilarious stories and adventures.    Ron was a true gentleman and will be remembered as a gentle man of God.   Ron was a wonderful brother and son, as well as friend to many.  He will be truly and deeply missed.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother Randy.    Ron is survived by his sister Susan Brentnall of Omaha, Nebraska (companion Chuck Grimes of Ralston, Nebraska), beloved dog Buddy, his Uncle Dale Brentnall of Ames, Iowa, his Aunts Virginia Dillon of Fontanelle, Iowa and Conchita Dillon of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and many cousins and friends.    May God grant comfort and strength to all who mourn.
