Ronda LaJean Katzer

Ronda LaJean Katzer was born on December 26, 1959 in Greenfield, Iowa. She passed away peacefully in her home on August 17, 2026 after battling a long illness.

Ronda was the daughter of LaVonne Elizabeth Jensen and Eugene Arthur Jensen. She graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School in 1978 and worked in real estate and a travel agency before spending 26 years at American Home Design in Creston. There, she became a valued part of the business and family. Ronda married Dr. Jerry Katzer on January 5, 2000.

Ronda’s faith and love for her family guided her throughout her life.

Ronda was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Arthur Jensen. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Katzer; mother, LaVonne Jensen; brother, Mark Jensen and wife Evelyn; daughter, Elisa Peppers (Josh); son, Luke McKinney; and Jerry’s sons: Nathan Katzer (Jennifer), Sam Katzer (Krista) and Brian Katzer. Along with them are 10 grandchildren: Ella McPherren and Landon Peppers (Elisa), Gavin, Dawson, Hope, and Brandon Katzer (Nathan), Allie, Mason, Evan, and Emery Katzer (Sam) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ronda enjoyed quilting, card games, puzzles, cooking, travel, and baseball. She was a devoted Kansas State Wildcats fan and loved cheering for her favorite teams. Ronda was a loving mother, grandmother, and supporter who loved attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She especially enjoyed bringing her family together for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.

After retirement, Ronda and Jerry enjoyed traveling together. They visited National Parks, including Glacier National Park, and spent winters in Tucson, El Paso, and Lake Havasu City, making many wonderful memories and friendships along the way.

A Visitation will be held August 21, 2026, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center in Creston. Family will receive friends from 5:00–7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass celebrating Ronda’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Ronda will be remembered for her strong faith, love for her family, kindness, friendship, and warm spirit. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
