Sarah Lenora Conley, daughter of Leo Wellington Moore and Marjorie Jane (Shoemaker) Moore, was born in Creston, IA, on June 22, 1950. Sarah lived all of her life in Creston where she attended public school. She married Marvin “Butch” Conley and they had two children, Jamie and Ginger. They later divorced. Sarah welcomed a third child, Chad, with Danny Turner.
Sarah worked as a housekeeper for the Iowana Hotel for eight years and Bernings Hotel for several years. Following the closing of the hotel, Sarah became self-employed and worked tirelessly providing cleaning services in the Creston community.
Sarah enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching television. She loved spending as much time as possible with her kids and grandkids. They were her pride and joy. Sarah was highly competitive at the game of Yahtzee.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Jamie Conley, Creston; Ginger (Rick) VanPelt, Creston; Chad (Lisa) Turner, Berea, KY; three grandchildren, Parker VanPelt; Zoey Turner and Isia Turner; mother, Marjorie Underwood, Winterset, IA; brother, Don (Lois) Henley, Janesville, WI; three sisters: Virginia Brownrigg, Creston; Linda (Guy) Bulock, New Ulm, MN; Barb (Craig) Berry, Winterset, IA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Sarah in death were her father; two brothers, Kenneth Moore and Robert Daniel; two sisters, Kathy Matlege and Mary Smith; and brother-in-law, William “Bill” Brownrigg.
