Steven James Blazek, the son of Edward B. and Marilyn Jane (Wager) Blazek, was born on July 31, 1963 in Creston, Iowa. Steven entered eternal rest on September 25, 2017 at Greater Regional Hospice House, Creston, Iowa at the age of fifty-four years, one month and twenty-five days.
Steven lived all of his life in the Prescott area. He attended Prescott Schools and graduated from Prescott High School with the Class of 1981. On July 3, 2016, Steven married Tresa Fern Loury at Prescott, Iowa.
Steven’s passion was farming, both raising crops and livestock, and being a steward of the land. Steve also worked as a carpenter for Louis Blazek for fifteen years. Later, he used the skills he learned from Louis and branched out on his own doing carpenter work. Steven was an avid fisherman and made annual trips to Canada to fish. He enjoyed trapping and fur trading. Steven played pool on the team for A G’s in the local pool league. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish Steven’s memory is his wife, Tresa Blazek, Prescott; his son, Dean James Blazek, Prescott; three daughters: Stacy (Chris) Danielson, Creston; Shelby (Philip) Priest, Arispe; and Shannon Andreasen, Afton; three grandchildren: Candyn Danielson, Masyn Danielson and Oakley Priest; his parents: Ed and Marilyn Blazek, Prescott; his mother and father-in-law, Twyla and Dennis Loury, Afton; his brother, Scott Blazek, Prescott; and his sister, Cindy Shelley, Creston.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charlie and Naomi Blazek; and Elmer and Myrtle Wager.
