Susan (Sample) Bohn

Susan Ann Bohn, the daughter of Curtis Glendale and Grace Margaret (Vaughn) Sample, was born July 15, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. Sue entered eternal rest on September 17, 2015 at Taylor House Hospice, Des Moines, Iowa at the age of sixty-eight years, two months, and two days.
Sue attended school in Des Moines and graduated from East High School with the Class of 1965. The majority of her working life was spent working for Des Moines General Hospital as a Medical Billing Clerk and filing Insurance Claims. When Des Moines General closed, she was employed by Mercy Medical Center. On May 14, 1982, Sue married William “Bill” Bohn in Des Moines. Sue continued working until retiring in July of 2013. Sue and Bill lived in Creston from 2006-2014 and Sue has lived in Pleasant Hill the past twelve months.
Sue was fond of birds, specifically cardinals, and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish Sue’s memory are her children: Laurie (Darren) May, Beecher, IL; John R. (Jennifer) Blanchard, Jr., Altoona, IA; Sandy (Dan) Miller, Walcott, IA; Cindy (Mark) Oliverius, Tipton, IA; Steve (Holly) Bohn, Corning, IA; Scott (Vickie) Bohn, Creston, IA; Twenty grandchildren; Six Great-Grandchildren; her brother: Dan (Virginia) Sample, Mesquite, NV; her sisters: Nancy (Virgil) Virden, Des Moines; Janet (Steve) Marker, Evansville, IN; and her beloved cat, Sassy.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Bohn on January 23, 2014; and her parents, Curt Sample and Grace Sample.
