Listen to Obituary

Twila Rae (Terry) Brant, born November 10, 1938 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Burdette and Eunice Terry, entered eternal rest June 2, 2026 and reunited with her husband of 67 years and her two sons.

As a young girl Twila moved around the country for her father's job. She was the oldest child with two younger brothers. Twila was a freshman in high school when her father's job took them to Truro, Iowa. As a teenage girl moving away from her friends to live at the booster station with the Natural Gas Pipeline Company was difficult. However, many fun times were had at the booster station. Little did she know she would meet the love of her life, Dean Brant.

Dean and Twila were high school sweethearts and married on March 8th, 1958. Four children were born to this union. They raised their family on a farm just outside of Truro. While Dean was farming, Twila was busy tending to the huge garden and all the other duties of a homemaker. Many memories were made while pulling weeds and harvesting all of the fruits and vegetables under the big tree in the back yard, as well as cleaning the house every Saturday morning.

In October, 1983 Dean and Twila moved to Creston. They became faithful members of the First Christian Church. Twila was very involved at the church as a Deacon, member of the Rebecca Circle and a Sunday School teacher. She began working at A&G Steakhouse shortly after moving to Creston. She spent several years there cooking, cleaning and waitressing. The Groumoutis family held a special place in her heart.

In Creston, Dean and Twila had many traditions, but one of their favorites was the Creston Hot Air Balloon Days with the Reinert family. Twila was also involved with the Creston Lions club. She enjoyed reading and supported the Friends of the Library. If she wasn't reading, you could find her watching her favorite shows, Gunsmoke or soap operas.

All of her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her. She enjoyed every phone call or visit and watching their many activities. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Sherri (Dave) Long and Tami (Kris) Adamson; daughters-in-law, Debbie Brant and Tawny Waske; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; her brother, Bob (Steph) Terry; sisters-in-law, Dixie Murphy and Donna Martin; and several nieces and nephews.

Twila is preceded in death by her husband Dean; her parents Burdette and Eunice; two sons Terry and Billy; sister in infancy; brother Bill (Kathy) Terry; and brothers in law Herschel Martin and Ed Murphy.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 12, 2026 at the First Christian Church of Creston. Pastor David Clark will Officiate. Twila will be laid to rest in the Lorimor Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center of Creston.
