Marva, Bart and families - our entire family is with you today and in the days to come, if not physically in spirit,, thoughts and prayer, We have been with you over the last few weeks as well. Perks of being part of the Steffen family, and aren't we lucky? Memories of Uncle Sam are so numerous and I can't single just one favorite. One memory was when he came with the track team to the Griswold invitational and afterward bringing a bus load of the participants to Grandma Steffen's house for homemade cookies and donuts she had made for the occasion. Every Christmas together has it's own special memory. When I was in radiology school in Omaha he and Donna were taking classes in Omaha and would check on me once a week; maybe asking me to say hi to one of their friends who was hospitalized where I was working. What a joyous reunion happening in heaven

We are so saddened to hear of Marvin's passing. Because he decided to hire me (Jan) to teach 3rd grade @ Corning Elementary, he significantly changed the trajectory of our lives. We have many treasured memories of our friendship thru the years and remember him with fondness and respect. Although we were planning to attend the visitation, the winter weather warning here has changed our minds. So, to Marva, Bart and your families, we send our sincere sympathy as you mourn the loss of a very special Dad, Grandpa & beloved friend to many.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember when Marva would be at her grandma and grandpa Pace's in Creston. I lived down the street and we would play for hours on end. I was allowed to go to Corning one day and spend a day in the elementary school thanks to her dad! He was one amazing man!

Sorry to hear about Uncle Marvin Many years ago I was 4 years old. 2nd Grand Child. He gave me my first Electric Train. I have it yet today. Also remmber when they got married. The reception was at Donna Parents home. They had a pool talble in the basement,. I like the pool balls, When I got home I had the 8 ball in my pocket. Got in big trouble for that. We took it back and I had to give to them my self. ha ha I was 4 years old.. I will never forget that and the train he gave me.. Darryl Guttau
