Dirk Huisman left a message on November 12, 2019:
I am so sorry to hear about Coach Taylor's passing. I attended SWCC from the fall of 1991 to the spring of 1993. I worked the scoreboard for the men's basketball games (even after I graduated for a few years) and got to know Coach very well. My mother worked at SWCC at the time and I remember Coach telling me frequently what a great person she was, and Mom said the same of him. I would like to offer my condolences to Coach Taylor's family and friends.

My deepest sympathies to Bill's family. I work as an adjunct for SWCC at Nodaway Valley High School. Bill is the man who made that job possible many years ago. I only got to see him once or twice a year, but he was always glad to see me and always called me by name. He was a great man to work for/with and more importantly a great man to know. He will be missed by many, many people.

Deb and I are thinking of Bill's family at this difficult time. The outpouring of support on social media, and a turnout of friends and family tonight at A&G in an informal social hour brought so many people together who shared memories of Bill. His influence on the community was immense, by wearing many hats at SWCC and doing all of his jobs well, while still being loyal in watching his children excel in their own basketball careers. He had his priorities in order and was a great role model with his work ethic and the selfless manner he lived his life. Bill wanted everyone to succeed. We will miss him deeply.

Taylors, we are deeply saddened to learn of Bill's passing and would like to extend our sincere condolences from Simpson's Student Development office. Jenna's strength of character and willingness to help others surely stems from her parents, and while I didn't know Bill personally, his legacy lives on in a way I'm sure he is proud of. Best wishes during this difficult time.
