Bruce Pearson

Bruce Pearson

Owner / Funeral Director / Certified Crematory Operator

Bruce Pearson is the Owner of Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center. He started working at the funeral home’s Corning facility as a funeral director in 1989, and purchased both the Corning and Creston locations in 2003. Born in Lincoln, NE, Bruce attended the University of Nebraska and earned a degree in Mortuary Science from Kansas City Kansas Community College. He has one daughter, along with a significant other, Cindy McDermott, who herself has three children. Bruce also has a biological sister and four foster siblings. In his free time, Bruce enjoys playing golf, camping, watching sports (especially college football), and vacationing with family.

Doug Leonard

Office Manager/Certified Crematory Operator

Doug Leonard has worked as an Office Manager at the Corning location since 2014. Doug is originally from Corning, IA. He earned a degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and graduated from Undergraduate Pilot Training at the United States Air Force Base in Enid, OK. He went on to serve in the Air Force for nearly six years, primarily as an instructor pilot. Doug is a retired postmaster, having worked with the U.S. Postal Service for almost three decades. He and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 46 years, and have three children and four grandchildren. In his free time, Doug enjoys gardening, working outside on his small farm, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Office Manager

Michelle Mostek has worked as an Office Manager at our Creston location since mid-2018. She was born and raised in Creston, is a Creston High School graduate, and went on to attend Southwestern Community College. Michelle’s pride and joy are her three children. Danielle lives in California and works for CBS, Payne is at Syracuse University studying to become a lawyer, and Ashton is heading to The University of Northern Iowa after graduating from Southwestern Community College. In Michelle’s free time, you can find her with her husband of 20 years, Rick, on the golf course or the water. She also enjoys traveling to spend time with her children.

Juleen Krings

Juleen Krings

Celebrant / Support Staff

Juleen spent her career in HR and upon retiring to Creston, with her husband Mark, they started a successful local Airbnb known as Farmhouse 1910.  She also spends her time enjoying the outdoors, golf, music, reading and, of course, the grandkids.  Juleen recently completed her Celebrant Certification and is available to assist families by conducting funerals and memorial services for their loved ones.

Prior to joining Pearson's Funeral Home, Mark had a very successful career in aerospace manufacturing before retiring in 2024.  When not assisting at Pearsons, Mark enjoys all types of hunting and fishing, camping, and is a proud Green Bay Packer fan.  Mark is a favorite with their grandkids and his wife, Juleen.
